Commuting and Parking

Bus Passes (City of Albuquerque) (505-243-7433) 
UNM Students, Faculty and Staff are eligible for a free monthly pass to ride the City of Albuquerque bus system. Students must provide a printout of their current class schedule and faculty and staff must provide an expanded online directory record and a sticker will be placed on their Lobo ID by going to the following locations:

  • UNM Student Union Building - Transportation Information Center (Plaza Level)
  • UNM Student Union Building Welcome Desk (Mall Level)
  • UNM Medical/Legal Bookstore
  • UNM Parking and Transportation Services (on the NW corner of University & Central)
  • UNM Hospital Parking and Transportation Services

Parking & Transportation Services (505-277-1938) 1621 Central NE
Parking & Transportation Services provides parking permits, shuttle transportation and other services. UNM campus parking is by paid permit, paid meters, or paid hourly gated parking at the visitor parking structure or visitor lot. Permits may be obtained online at pats.unm.edu. Parking Services provides enforcement from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. This means valid permit display and meter payment are required during these hours. Parking services does enforce during academic breaks (such as spring break, winter break), but does not enforce on University Holidays (Thanksgiving, 4th of July, etc.). Courtesy shuttles for the G, T, and South lots operate from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays. Check online for the schedule during the summer session and academic breaks. The Redondo shuttle operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please visit their website for a map of our shuttle routes, and more information on parking and transportation.
Visitor Parking Structure Corner of Cornell and Redondo, rates are around $1.75/hr.
Yale Parking Structure Corner of Yale and Lomas, rates are around $1.75/hr.


Security Escort Services (505-277-2241)
Escort service is available for security purposes through the UNM Police Department.  This service will pick you up on campus and take you to your vehicle.  It is confined to the main, north and south campus areas and is available from 4:00 pm through 7:00 am every day.
